Why Old Neighbours get together against India?

Why Old Neighbours get together against India? There are several problems that have cropped up in the country at present. The long line of COVID patients outside the ICU, the economy that was itself in the ICU, unemployment, depression, starvation, cyclones, Karan Johar, earthquakes... You name it! This year has come with more number of problems than with the number of months Just like a new KBC episode, a new problem breaks out every month and there are no simple solutions to them and even if you do come up with answers, it's not like you win 1 crore rupees.

Neighbourhood first policy, India relation with neighbour, why neighbours attcking india, foreign policy fails, Narendra Modi relation with neighbours

Despite all of this, there are some problems that are thriving outside the country that is a snafu- both within the country as well as in the neighborhood "...coming out of the Galwan Valley, in the violent face off that happened between the Indian and Chinese troops.." "A statement that has been put out by the Indian army said that 20 of our personnel have been martyred..." As you are already aware, the Chinese army made an intrusion into the Galwan Valley of Ladakh recently a skirmish broke out between them and our security forces After this incident, 20 of our soldiers got martyred on the border and a war broke out on the news channels It was almost as if the enraged Indian Godi Media would go to China with all guns blazing and exact revenge from China But it is not only China that India has a problem with.

Why this type of Situation if we have Good Foreign Policy

Pakistan has been creating problems ever since its birth But now our relations are turning sour with Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, SriLanka and even Indonesia and Malaysia, we will find out why the feeling of "boycott India " has been thriving in our neighbourhood countries and where did we go wrong? Do not do incomplete work like the politicians. The "India" that has been a major player in grand alliances like SAARC, ASEAN and BIMSTEC did not receive any firm support from any of its neighbouring countries in the Galwan crisis And now, even Russia has refused to mediate Even Amir Siddiqui got more support from the TikToker community than India got from its neighbours And all of this is happening because our relations with our neighbouring countries have turned so sour that the border which was always claimed to be in danger by the government  (in a bid to secure power) is in actual danger this time Normally, whenever we hear about tensions on the border, only two things come to mind- One- Pakistan in "Siacheeen" Second- Elections in India But this time, tensions have broken out in the Galwan valley not because of Pakistan, but because of China But, why? Because a liaison was being worked out with Xi (Jinping) ever since the last year and even before that, the Prime Minister was getting a pre-Covid photoshoot in Wuhan In fact, Xi Jinping and Modi have met around 18 times since 2014 And the Prime Minister has visited China 5 times. No Prime Minister has frequented China so many times in 70 years! So, why are there so many conflicts despite such close relations? It's not a husband-wife relation, after all! Some reports suggest that the reason behind Ladakh standoff could be the abrogation of Article 370 and converting Ladakh into a Union Territory and including Aksai Chin in it but it could also be that the infrastructure expansion being done by China and the roads being constructed under the Belt and Road initiative, etc. needs more territory and hence China is pushing India back But indulging in skirmishes on the border is just a small part of China's nefarious strategy And this nefarious strategy can be countered not by breaking TVs and boycotting China but by transforming India into a democratic alternative of China, thereby attracting investment and we can defeat it only by creating a Global Alliance.

We have talked about this in detail in this episode As you already know, along with China, the small and dainty Nepal has also been raising border issues with us Until very recently, we did not even required a passport to go to Nepal So why (the border issues) then? That is because when the Madhesis in Nepal staged a rebellion in 2015 then India imposed an economic blockade which had a detrimental impact on their economy and some say that it even had an impact on their mentality and their outlook Recently, due to the politics of emphasizing on its ancient history, a small country like Nepal moved away from India and ensconced itself in the lap of China And now, through various means like stopping the anti-erosion work on the border or by increasing the flood risk in India or by blaring out anti-India songs. Nepal is now flexing itself before us Recently, the Nepal government has passed an amendment which included several places that India has claims over, into its own map #NepaliMasterstroke And incorporating controversial territories by passing an amendment has not only affected the India Nepal relations (on a side note) I'm in full swing today!

CAA Effect

After the passing of CAA, our relations with Bangladesh also began to get strained because when we accused them of minority persecution, then their Foreign Minister, Home Minister, Deputy Foreign Minister and Parliament Speaker all cancelled their visit to India. We might have amassed votes by abusing the Bangladeshi migrants but we have soured our relations with Bangladesh and Bangladesh is not a naive infant. It is one of the world's fastest-growing economies. Could we have handled the situation better? Could we have reached a better understanding with Bangladesh through a better diplomacy strategy regarding NRC and CAA? The sheer pride and arrogance has led to chances of straining our relations with one of India's biggest trading partners On the other side, China has provided a 97% tariff exemption to Bangladeshi imports recently for many products Viewed from the perspective of Bangladesh, China is giving them a 97% tariff discount. We are labeling them as a "minority persecuter" while Dinesh Kartik does not even let them win a T20 match At this rate, even Bangladesh is falling out of our hands CAA has ruined our relations with not just Bangladesh, but other countries as well The Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has also criticized Indian government regarding CAA and Kashmir In retaliation, our government reduced the import of Malaysian palm oil #KararaJawabToMalaysia (a befitting reply to Malaysia)

Basically, the government said that 'we don't listen to our own people, Malaysia you are just a neighbour after all!' Indonesia and Iran have also opposed India regarding CAA Iran's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif went on to use "thuggery" to describe our activities in his tweet Now it is not possible to leave out Pakistan when we are talking about India's strained relations There can't be a bachelor party without a performer! While our relations were getting strained in the east, Pakistan was flexing even more in the west Infact, while the country was dealing with the COVID pandemic and China, Pakistan has violated ceasefire many times in the past 6 months!

Srilanka and Myanmar attack

India's trade relations with Pakistan are not going well either There are calls for boycott even there Sri Lanka is a very important neighbour of India in the Southern peninsula More importantly, it lies at a very important strategic location But even Sri Lanka has opted out of our sphere of influence Having lured Sri Lanka into a debt trap, China has captured the Sri Lankan port of Hambantota for 99 years. It has made the port into its economic territory Not just that, Xi Jinping visited Myanmar in January and achieved strategic advantage there as well by the offer of Yangon city sea port and industrial zones That is, while we were brooding on a trade war here China had already made preparations for taking over countries like Sri Lanka and Myanmar by means of exerting influence for making military bases and economic zones Put simply, China has... "cornered us from all sides" Normally, the enemy of the enemy is a friend. But, in our case, the friend of our friend is an enemy After coming to power in 2014, in a first, Modi had invited the SAARC members to a swearing in ceremony (giving credit where its due) The "Neighbourhood first" policy of the first term of the Prime Minister was quite successful. Everything seems to be falling to pieces in the second term And all of this when The Prime Minister has spent 2000 crores over foreign trips And the Modi government has also amassed votes in the Lok Sabha elections over their foreign policy.

Track changes by India

What is unfortunate is that while China was drawing our neighbours away from us, by strategically investing in them and buying them over, then we lay asleep Actually, we were not asleep. We were also indulging in buying... MLAs and MPs We were formulating strategies as well Our government was quite busy in lathi charging and arresting the students. On a serious note, these are extremely important times for our country We are dealing with a pandemic And so now, more than ever, we need to focus on our foreign policy Not the Geneva, Russia, Donald Trump foreign policy but the foreign policy regarding our neighbourhood You could say- Deshbhakt, get beds in the hospital and get the fuel prices reduced first Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand could be looked into later But we will have to maintain good relations with our neighbours in this time of crisis Because when the economy is in shambles when the education system is faltering, when the healthcare system has collapsed completely, When the government seems confused and the tensions at the borders keep escalating, when China is becoming increasingly more aggressive, the last thing that we want is a failed foreign policy and an even more hostile neighbourhood So we can let go off our ego and promote brotherhood Or else, the country is ready to blindly believe that "everything is okay" If this episode was slightly more technical, I'd like to apologize for that but when we began research on China's aggressive domination over India, then the neighbouring countries that India was the "big brother" of at one time and they used to look upto us- What are they doing? What is Sri Lanka doing? What is Bangladesh saying? Why are there so many problems with Nepal? A clear pattern is emerging- India has been extremely aggressive and arrogant with its neighbours (especially off late) due to which, everyone is unhappy with us And there is a major reason behind this Forget 370 Several neighbours are unhappy with us because of CAA And while China was strategically investing around us, we lay embroiled in internal politics, internal strategy and securing power.
